Weedless Wednesday!

There is some progress to report in the garden:

  1. Nothing has died!
  2. The beets and sunflowers (started from seed) seem to be growing – see #4.
  3. The cabbage and tomatoes are thriving, though the peppers, cucumbers, and strawberries aren’t really.
  4. It’s getting harder to know if something is sprouting that we planted intentionally, or if there’s some unintentional weed growth going on.

How’s your garden growing?

OH no!!! That sounds awful!! Blight this early? Couldn’t be! Don’t give up (please! You were part of my inspiration to start the garden). Maybe we can arrange a weeding party one day during lunch?

Deilee, you can actually buy live ladybugs at some of the gardening shops and release them directly into your garden. I have done this and it works!!! We’ve also had blight before, but weirdly had the tomatoes come out anyway, and taste fine. So, keep on growing them. i think certain types of blight are more deadly than others.
And pepper plants ALWAYS started out really slow for us, and then took off somewhere around end June/ July – I think they like the heat!
I’m jealous of your lovely gardens….!
