Over the weekend we celebrated the birthday of a special lady — my mom. A lovely lady who has an enormous positive impact in the life of our family each and every day.
Here’s a sneak peak at the decorations:
We busted out the paint and our daughters put their hand prints all over some banner paper. In case you can’t see it I added “Let’s Put Our Hands Together for Grandma’s Birthday.” We also taped up other art work around the dining room that included more painted hand prints.
For birthdays I try to make sure that the dessert is extra special and normally let the guest of honor choose their dessert — and the decision for this auspicious occasion was a peanut butter and chocolate pie. I used this recipe for Double Layer Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie from allrecipes.com.
Here’s a quick visual review of the recipe:
Graham cracker crust filled with hot fudge; covered by a mix of peanut butter, cream cheese, sugar, and milk; topped by crumbled peanut butter cups; covered with chocolate pudding and topped with mini peanut butter cups.
The quilt is based on the line art pattern published in the Winter 2010 Quilts and More Magazine. The quilt was fun to make!
So there you have it – a sneak peak at some birthday fun!
