Quality and Simplicity

Hello Readers!

Hope you are off to having a lovely week. I conducted a bit of an experiment last week — I didn’t post here and it felt….well okay. I started this blog because I wanted to share my stuff — kitchen, sewing, gardening creations.

The blog was a fulfillment of my new years resolution to start a blog and I did it.

I’ve really enjoyed figgsandsuch and learned a lot about photography, WordPress, twitter, reaching out to other awesome bloggers in the community and I’ve loved hearing from readers.

Fundamentally at my core though, I like to keep things simple. The less clutter the better. In recent weeks the blog became more of a must do instead of a want to do.

I also wanted this blog to be about quality and not quantity. Lately its been about just getting pictures up and text written, some of the entries have been rushed and not very thoughtful.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking at other blogs and doing projects at night after work, but these activities have made things the opposite of simple — they mean less time for family, friends, keeping up with the NBA playoffs, even reading a book.

So while I’m real happy with figgsandsuch and the experiment has been great — I’m going to be posting less and think I will enjoy not have the pressure of having to post three times a week.

Let’s hear it for simplification and quality!

See you soon, faithful readers!

Hurray for simplification and quality! Your focus should be on your lovely little ladies!! 🙂 I think a blog is better when it’s not forced. Am anxious to see what prompts your next post. and HAPPY EASTER too!!

I’m, personally, very glad that you started blogging. I’ve enjoyed keeping up with the goings on of you and your family. But, as you can probably tell from my own little space, I don’t think blogging should take precedence over the more important things in life. It’s a hobby that has the potential to be very time consuming, and it’s so easy to get caught up in everything. I really don’t know how some the other, more prolific, folks out there balance it all. I hope that you do continue to post occasionally. I’ll still be here, checking in on you guys. 🙂

P.S. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!
