Power Balls — Oh yea, Oh yea!

Howdy, friends!

We went to a running work shop on Saturday morning and one of the facilitators kept saying “oh yea, oh yea!” So now that’s in my head. Take a minute and just say “oh yea, oh yea” repeatedly — go on do it!

Makes you smile, huh?

Well this recipe for “power balls” is going to make you smile too. A friend passed it along and then I found it here. Who knew Disney also published recipes? Is there anything the media giant doesn’t do?

Anyway — here are the simple directions,  my modifications, and some pics!

Mix together 1 cup peanut butter and 1 cup honey until smooth. Gradually add in 3 cups old fashioned oats and 1/2 cup ground flaxseed. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup dried fruit. Then just roll the mixture into inch size balls and put in the fridge so the ingredients really bond.

Note that mine didn’t stick together so well initially so I added in some more honey and peanut butter. I think these would be great snacks for a play date or any type of get together.

Nice! I think I am going to try this recipe! Thanks Kel! Oh and I red somewhere about snacks to take with you while on the run. Simple carbohydrates were the key. They also added Fig Newtons and gummy bears. I am not joking.

Diz — oh thanks for reading! Let me know if you try this recipe and what you think of it. I’m thinking it might also be good as squares/bars. I’ve heard about gummy bears! Isn’t that wild? Also jelly bellys makes a jelly bean for runners, so I’m thinking of trying that. I’ve also heard that even peppermint candies can be helpful on a run. Hope you are doing well. Spring isn’t here yet, but I keep reminding myself that is has to come, right?! 🙂
